Terms of Service

Effective date: 4 August 2026 · Last updated: 4 August 2026

These Terms govern access to and use of the EventQuery Sentry platform provided by [LEGAL ENTITY] ("EQS", "we"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. Where a signed order form or enterprise agreement exists, that agreement controls if it conflicts with these Terms.

1. The service

EventQuery Sentry is a fleet-intelligence platform: a lightweight agent for Windows and macOS, a control plane for real-time querying, automated triage (ATA), proactive and live remediation (detection & remediation script packages), vulnerability management with opt-in patch automation, remote administration actions, and compliance evidence, delivered via the portal and APIs.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and be authorised to bind your organisation. You are responsible for activity under your account and for your users' compliance with these Terms.

3. Subscriptions, trials & billing

4. Acceptable use

5. Customer responsibilities & data

You are responsible for the lawful basis to collect endpoint telemetry and for any required end-user notices. Processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and any applicable DPA. Security practices are described in our Security overview.

The agent runs at SYSTEM/root and can apply curated, pre-approved fixes. Automation features — autonomous and live remediation, vulnerability patch install/rollback (via the OS package managers), on-demand bulk push, and ad-hoc command execution ("break-glass") — are opt-in and off by default, gated by a fleet circuit breaker and an on-device destructive-command guard, and enabled only by an owner. Authorised administrators may take remote actions on managed devices (restart, log collection, notify, sync, escalate) over the authenticated agent channel; these are recorded in the audit log. You are responsible for reviewing and enabling these capabilities and for defining appropriate maintenance windows.

6. AI features

AI-generated narratives, triage, and remediation suggestions are advisory only. To the extent permitted by law, EQS is not liable for missed threats, false positives, or actions taken (including automated fixes you enable). You remain responsible for reviewing security-relevant decisions.

7. Intellectual property

EQS retains all rights in the platform, agent, and documentation. You retain all rights in your data. You grant EQS the limited rights needed to operate the service for you.

8. Confidentiality

Each party will protect the other's confidential information and use it only to perform under these Terms.

9. Warranties & disclaimer

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EQS disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and EQS's aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid in the [12] months preceding the claim. [Confirm cap and carve-outs with counsel.]

11. Term & termination

Either party may terminate for material breach not cured within a reasonable period. On termination, access ends and your data is exported or deleted per the Privacy Policy / DPA.

12. Service levels & support

Support and any service-level commitments are provided per your plan or order form.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date and, where required, notice to you.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION / GOVERNING LAW], and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. [Confirm with counsel.]
